The annual Louie's Cannonball Regatta was held on Saturday, Oct. 2. Fourteen boats in three divisions started, all finished. The overall winner was Arthur Kass.

Wood Boat and classic yacht race MBOD class, six boats.

MBYC's Wooden Boat and Classic Yacht Race, instituted by Commodore Roger Shope about five years ago, was held on Sunday, Oct. 3.

In Class A of large boats were Quee-Queq and HIQ II. The former won. (Neither is of our bay) In Class B were six MBO's. Miss B Haven (Grace Allen/Ralph Heinzeling) won and Black Jack (George Graf/ Adrian Alley) was second.

In approximate terms, both classes sailed out to the sound, to the southern end of the bay and to the finish line off MBYC.

There was insufficient wind for the One Design Distance Race scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 2.

Sailing Spectacular 12-Metre Regatta (including America's Cup boats and some 6-Metres.) Oct. 9 and 10. Larchmont Yacht Club.

P.S. Sunday's wind was described early on as "W-SW-NW." Later it worked itself into a northerly. With several friends your reporter enjoyed the day on the bay. Among them was Kathy Wuerth who took the photos.
