Processing of Bills Still an Issue at Board of Education Meeting
The question of whether improperly filled out forms or incomplete liens of contractors should have been paid, and whether such incomplete paperwork placed the District in jeopardy, resurfaced and dominated parts of the Board of Education meeting of August 24. In other business, the majority of the BOE voted to authorize Dr. Inserra and Ottaiano Architects to enter into an agreement for a report for multiple facilities options, and the report of Superintendent Dr. Inserra presented higher enrollment numbers than those projected.

More Sloppy Accounting in Village of Manorhaven
Following its recent State Comptroller's Office Audit that was requested by residents, another audit, this time from the Village of Manorhaven's internal auditors, indicates that other correct bookkeeping procedures have not been followed for the village's fiscal year that ended May 31, 1999. In a letter dated July 19, the accounting firm of Corrino & Gross, CPAs, the village's independent auditors, reported the following:

Long Island Blood Services to Sponsor
Long Island Blood Services has once again signed on to be the primary sponsor of Rob's Run, the annual late fall 5 Kilometer cross country run, which will be held on Sunday, Nov. 28 at Stillwell Woods Town Park in Syosset. The run will once again be administered by the Greater Long Island Running Club.
