Sara Meilan Salorio, 82, a Port Washington resident for over 50 years, died in Panama on May 20, 1999, after a brief illness. She was born in Brooklyn in 1916 and graduated in 1932 from Girls' Commerical High School. She and her husband John moved to Port Washington in 1944. She was active in her church as well as in school and community organizations in Port Washington. She worked in the office at the old Flower Hill School for many years. She is survived by her husband, John; her daughter, Anita DeSimone and sons, Stephen and Eugene Salorio; her sister, Celia Meilan; and her grandchildren, Cynthia, John, David, Samuel and Anne Salorio and Sarah, Abraham and Emmanuel Hilding.

A memorial service will be held on Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Port Washington.

Anthony T. Procelli, 79, of Garden City, died on July 28, 1999. He grew up in Port Washington and graduated from Port Washington High School. He was a US Marine veteran serving in the Pacific. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting and his master's degree in business administration from Hofstra University.

Mr. Procelli started to work at Hoftra University as an assistant to the bursar and retired as treasurer, vice president for business affairs and special consultant to the president in 1990. He was president of the Eastern Association of Colleges and University Business Officers from 1975-76, director of its national organization from 1977-81, president of the Hofstra Alumni Association from 1964-65 and the University Club of LI from 1968-69. He received Hofstra's George M. Estabrook Distinguished Service Award in 1961, presidential medal in 1989, the alumni association senate commendation for service award in 1991 and achievement award in 1993. He was a member of the Hempstead Golf and Country Club.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann; his children, Thomas, James, Janet LaRosa and Barbara Ann Johnson; brother, Matthew; sisters, Jennie Marchese and Florence Iacona, both of Port Washington and Micki Kudder; and 13 grandchildren. Arrangements were made by the Fairchild Sons Funeral Home, Garden City. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's RC Church. Interment Pinelawn Memorial Park.
