At its Aug. 10 meeting, the Port Washington School Board adopted the tax levy for the 1999 fiscal year. The amount of the budget approved by the voters in June is $70.9 million. The amount of revenue that must be raised by taxation, according to Assistant Superintendent of Business Larry Blake is $61.8 million. Headquartered at Lamotta's Manhasset Bay Marina, in Port Washington, the event will have 100 plus powerboaters transiting Long Island Sound, between Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Port Chester, New York, then back to Port Washington.
