The club has also conducted 36 spring flounder contests for bay area kids, or a total of 86, in which more than 13,000 young anglers have tried their luck and skills. About an equal number of parents and grandparents have turned out to share in the sport, and these derbies have become a club/family/community tradition for all who use the Town of North Hempstead Dock.
