"March Madness," a term pirated from basketball and applied to school budget workshop time, began early this year. The first work session for the 1999/2000 budget was held on Feb. 9 and broadly outlined the proposed budget and focused on one of its seven components termed "General Support."

When he worked in another restaurant, he was making decent money, but he did not have time to learn English. His job schedule did not allow him to go to school, so he looked for another job. Two years ago, at a restaurant in Manhasset, Jose Luis Jaramillo, 28, found the job he was looking for, and so he went to school.

Vikings in Playoffs Lose Quarterfinal Game to Long Beach 68-40
For the second consecutive year, the Vikings reached the quarter-finals of the Nassau County Boys Basketball Championships, a feat which has not been accomplished by a boys Port basketball team in over 20 years. This year's team also managed to win a playoff game (against VS Central), a first for a Port team since the late '70s. All this was accomplished by a team that finished the season with a 10-10 overall record.
