Baxter Estates Ponders Boat Ordinance
A law limiting the size and type of boats that Baxter Estates homeowners can store in their yards or driveways is still on the agenda, according to village officials. In response to a petition signed by 96 residents in December, the board of trustees is exploring how other villages, including Manorhaven, Port North and Flower Hill, control off-season boat storage on private property.

Can Schreiber Handle Increased Enrollment and Program Upgrades?
Faced with deciding on whether to act on one of the recommendations by the school district's educational consultants, KBD Associates, which was to place the ninth grade in the Weber/Flower Hill facility, the school board asked its architect to do a feasibility study to determine whether Schreiber could be expanded/renovated to house grades nine through twelve in 2008, when the enrollment is projected to be approximately 1,600 students.

Sunday, Feb. 7, five teams of frostbiters completed two races in little to no wind. The lack of wind gave the sailors and their crew time to enjoy some refreshment on the race committee boat and watch the beauty of snow falling on the bay.
