Thirty-five acres of woodlands could be axed to expand the golf course at the Village Club of Sands Point from nine to 18 holes, according to a proposed development plan for the 208-acre municipal country club. The plan would re-map the current holes, build nine more, and bite into an 80-acre wooded parcel in the northern corner of the club, near Hempstead Harbor. FULL STORY

The State Supreme Court in Mineola has upheld the 1998 Town Ordinance which permits through traffic to Port Washington Boulevard from Longview Road, disappointing Citizens for Safety, Longview residents and other supporters who had filed suit to reverse the ordinance and continue Longview's traffic restrictions. The court's decision permits Longview Road, located in Port's Beacon Hill section, to once again be used by motorists as a thoroughfare to Port Washington Boulevard. FULL STORY
