Merton Allen, 79, of Port Washington, died on Dec. 5, 1998. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Port Washington. For many years he had been a printer at Metropolitan Label Company in Brooklyn and later worked as salesman for Massaro Brothers Oil Company in Great Neck. He was the advisor to Explorer Post #50 and an active member of the Lions Club in Port Washington. Husband of Augusta. Father of Deborah and Arlene. Grandfather of Brian T. McCann Jr. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Memorial service at the United Methodist Church. Contributions can be made in his name to the United Methodist Church, 1515 Middle Neck Rd., Port Washington. Edward J. Steadman, of Long Key, FL, died on Dec. 8, 1998 at Calvary Hospital, Bronx. Husband of the late Dorothy E. Father of Barbara L. Snyder of Norwalk, CT, and Edward J. Steadman of Stevensville, MD. Also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Long Key, FL and Montauk at a future time yet to be determined. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society. Thera Purithasna, 29, of Port Washington, died on Dec. 8, 1998. Son of Charapond Elthawy. Stepson of Samir Eltahawy. Nephew of Dr. Benia Athon. Arrangements were made by the Austin F.
