Mixed Reviews for Dog Day Afternoon in Port
Touted as "the first of its kind in the US," Dog Day in Port Washington was held on Saturday Dec. 12. Participating restaurants invited dog owners to lunch inside their eateries, and, in the European mode, allowed them to bring their "well-behaved" dogs with them.

Police Arrest Two on Counterfeit Currency Charges
Two Manorhaven residents have been criminally charged with using phony $100 bills at separate Main Street stores. One, a 35-year old male was arrested on Dec. 7. The other, a 26-year-old male, was arrested on Dec. 15. Both are accused of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, a felony. The Port Washington Police Department, along with the United States Secret Service, are investigating a possible association between the two men, as well as the source of the bogus bills.

The St. Peter's 7th Grade Boys Basektball defeated rival 65-45 and lifted their CYO record to 3-0. The victory enabled them to continue to hold onto first place.
