On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Port Washington Public Library, I would like to thank the Port Washington community for its overwhelming support of the library improvement project. The enthusiastic turnout at the polls on Oct. 6 confirms the excitement all of us share over a much-needed building improvement project which will well serve our outstanding library for years to come as we enter the 21st century.
We would also like to extend our appreciation to Library Director Nancy Curtin, who with her dedicated staff, formulated the concepts and plans for the enhancement of the library ¬ plans which will soon become a reality. And to our architects, Liisa and Donald Sclare, our appreciation for their dedication in turning out a design for this project which will most certainly reflect those values which have made our library the cornerstone of our community.
And most significantly, all of us owe a debt of gratitude to Amy Bass and the Friends of the Library for their unwavering support of the entire project, from start to finish.
Finally, our thanks to the many members of the community who attended our planning sessions, meetings and workshops over the last several years and provided suggestions, ideas and insights which have been invaluable in arriving at our final decisions.
