  • NEWS: Library Bond Passes by Landslide

    Port residents swarmed to the library in record numbers last Tuesday, October 6, to vote for the $5,968,960 bond which will be used to finance the expansion and renovation of Port Washington's existing library on Main Street, which opened 28 years ago. The vote, which included 87 absentee ballots was 558 against the bond, and 953 for. In other words, 63 percent of the voters voted for the bond. FULL STORY

    Baxter Estates is putting on a new face and it could happen as soon as this week. The village has contracted to resurface four roads in the heart of the community ¬ Hilltop Road, Overlook Drive, Ridgeway Road, and Woodcleft Avenue ¬ with work beginning "as early as late (this) week," according to a village official.     Port's best defensive effort of this season, coupled with two long touchdown runs by Jason Ham, resulted in a stunning upset win over Carey 14-6. The win lifted Port to a 3-1 record and possible playoff consideration. The Vikings have four games remaining. All four games are crucial.
