Donald A. Carmichael died March 6, 1998. He was 81 and a resident of Apopka, FL. Don was born in Port Washington and was a resident for 55 years. He graduated from Port Washington High School and during his years there he pitched two no hitters for the baseball team and was a member of the 1934 Championship Football Team. Don was a Navy veteran of WWII and a community Babe Ruth League coach for many years. He was an active member of Local 138 Operating Engineers for 33 years. He was predecased by daughter, Patricia Carmichael Reffelt, who died in 1985. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marjorie Reese; two daughters, Barbara Carmichael Krupski of Longwood, FL and Christi Carmichael of Springdale, UT; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. His family will hold a memorial service in Port Washington on Sept. 3.
Stanislaw L. Panczyk, 88, of Port Washington, died on Aug. 22, 1998. Father of Irene Murray of Port Washington and Stephanie Hurd of Clinton Corners, NY. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Emiley F. Barr, 74, of Stroudsburg, PA formerly of Port Washington, died on Aug. 28, 1998. Wife of the late Richard K. Mother of John P. (Chris), Dennis W. (Debby) and Allan R. Also survived by three sisters, two brothers, seven grandchildren, four great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, E. Stroudsburg. Funeral service with the Rev. Robert Shrom officiating. Cremation at Arlington Cemetery, Whitehall, PA.
Grace W.C. Lapham died Sept. 2, 1998. She is survived by her three children, Thomas, Stephen and Anne Codey; and by eight grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Fairchild Sons Funeral Home. Service was held at the Meeting House on Sept. 5. The family requests donations be made to the Camp Fund of the Family Service Association in lieu of flowers.
