Pastor John Michael Thomas latest broadside into Port's Jewish community demonstrates his utter contempt for people with beliefs different from his own. That his "... evangelical doctrine has not changed since his church's founding" does not make his attitude any less condescending. Jews as a group are not children, anxiously awaiting Dr. Thomas' sermon from a mount. I do not belittle his religious beliefs, nor do I seek to change them. His lack of respect of other religions is clearly demonstrated by his desire to bring others into his fold in spite of their own beliefs. Good intentions frequently makes for poor road paving.
To Dr. John Michael Thomas, Pastor of the Bible Church of Port Washington and Port Washington Christian School, I say this: Keep your beliefs to yourself, and I will return the favor, I'm Jewish. I'm sorry if that offends you. Don't have the arrogance to tell me to be Christian.
By the way, if you do succeed, and every Jew on the planet now sees your light, are Catholics, Muslims and Hindus next?
