At the February meeting of the Inc. Village of Manorhaven, Fran Mienik and Jennifer Wilson Pine's plan for the development of the open space at the corner of Ashwood Road and Manorhaven Blvd. was unveiled. These women are to be commended for their efforts.

Isn't it wonderful that we have this open space to turn into a park rather than some more commercial development? Thank goodness Mayor Pagano prevailed against opposition for the purchase of this property, thereby preserving this open area and turning it into green space. Let us not forget that if it weren't for the vision and efforts on the part of one of our environmentalists, Mayor Gary Pagano, the plan for the development of a park would not be possible.
