Walter Abbot MacPherson, of Pinehurst, NC, died on Jan. 13, 1998 at St. Joseph of the Pines Health Center. Born in Rochester on April 28, 1914, he served during WWII in the US Navy. He founded his own business in the heating industry as a manufacturer's representative. He taught engineering at Farmingdale A&T College and was a member of the Methodist Church of Port Washington. He taught Sunday School and was a member of the Pinehurst County Club. Mr. MacPherson and his wife were one of the original owners of a home in Eastern Crest They lived there for 33 years. the Eastern Crest homes were built by Mrs. MacPherson's father, Louis Brunetti. Husband of Evelyn. Father of James MacPherson and Thomas MacPherson. Grandfather of four. Arrangements were made by the Powell Funeral Home, Southern Pines, NC. Rose Salerno, 81, of Port Washington, died on March 2, 1998. Wife of the late Antonio. Mother of Anthony Salerno of Port Washington and Shirley Nardiello of Centereach. Mother-in-law of Fredric Nardiello. Predeceased by her son Robert. Grandmother of Fredric and Lisa Nardiello. Sister of Ralph and Jack Tornello and Connie Nardis. Herminia Torrado Branco, 74, a resident of of Port Washington for eight years, died on March 4, 1998 at home. Wife of Jose. Mother of Jose Branco of Holmdell, NJ and Maria Branco Rorke of Port Washington. Grandmother of Evan and Catrina Rorke and Mason and Justin Branco. Aunt of Angel Torrado of E. Brunswick, NJ.
