Thomas H. Brown Jr., 64, a lifelong resident of Port Washington, died on Feb. 3, 1998 at St.Francis Hospital. He honorably served his nation in the US Air Force and was a recording engineer for BMG Records, NY for many years. Father of Thomas H. Brown III, Alan D. Brown and Ruth Brown. Grandfather of Ashely and Morga Brown. Father-in-law of Tyra Brown. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Funeral service at the Zion Baptist Church. Interment private.
Charles Schroeder, 90, of Port Washington, died on Feb. 23, 1998. He was very active in the Port Harbor Condominiums and was responsible for getting a stop sign put up on Main St. and Prospect. He was also very active in the Cooper Union Alumni and the Port Washington Fire Medics. Husband of Anne. Father of Jane Rosevelt and Lois Weston. Grandfather of Kelly, Jennifer, Keith, Carolyn and Matthew. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. A service was held at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Cooper Union College in NYC or the Fire Medics of Port Washington.
Jean T. Aurichio, 78, a resident of Port Washington for over 30 years, died on Feb. 23, 1998, following a long illness. She had worked for 30 years as a telephone operator for NY Telephone and then as a phone operator at the US Merchant Marine Academy. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, Our Lady of Fatima Church and a volunteer for the Community Action Council. Wife of the late Frank. Mother of Robert and his wife Barbara. Sister of Helen Brocco of Elmont, Albert Palmaccio of Center Moriches and Louis Palmaccio of Scotsdale, AZ. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Graveside service at Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
Roger Dennis Grimm, formerly of Port Washington, dear son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert T. Grimm of Punta Gorda, FL formerly of Sands Point, passed away on Feb. 25, 1998 in Tucson, AZ. He is survived by two sisters, Joan Cullen and Roberta Cherchio; five brothers, Ronald, Bruce, Richie, Barry and Kevin ; and many nieces and nephews. Services were private.
