The Long Island Rough Riders and Global Sports recently hosted the second Annual Beach Bash Sand Soccer Tournament at Jones Beach. Sixty-four teams with over 700 players competed in 13 age brackets for the sought- after title of Beach Soccer Champions. Players and their families found perfect playing conditions at Jones Beach State Park.
Beautiful oceanfront views, the boardwalk with food concessions and the Rough Riders Fun Zone made this event much more than a mere soccer tournament. An estimated 3,500 people watched the youth players showcase their skills and compete for the tournament win. U14 and older divisions had the chance to qualify for the 2013 National Beach Soccer Championships in Clearwater Beach, FL.
Due to the popularity of this event, the Rough Riders will host a second tournament on August 3, also at Jones Beach. Registration is still open for all youth and adult divisions Teams can submit applications at www.liroughriders.com.
