Tee off and raise money for the needy

on Long Island this spring

The Long Island Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDPLI) will host its 10th Annual Golf Classic at the Tam O’ Shanter Club in Brookville on Monday May 13. This year’s honoree, Thomas S. Gulotta, former Nassau County Executive, will join attendees in celebrating the good work of this organization.

Last year, SVDPLI helped 234,572 people with over $8.3 million in financial and material support. Their mission is to help people overcome times of hardship and they accomplish this by visiting the homes of those in need and providing services in the comfort and privacy of the client’s home. The type of assistance provided varies and is based on the needs of each family.

At a school board meeting last Monday, the Plainview Board of Education presented seventeen retiring employees with plaques commemorating their service to the school district for a combined total of over 320 years. Assistant Superintendent
for Human Resources

Dr. Timothy T. Eagen announced each retiree, and commented on their service on behalf of the school board: “We are very much appreciative of your efforts, hard work and leadership.”
