Plainview Water District Participates In NYS’s Best Tasting Water Competition

District participates after being awarded title of “Best Tasting Water” in NY regional competitions

The Plainview Water District recently participated in the New York State Finals of the Best Tasting Water Competition. After being honored with the prestigious title of “Best Tasting Drinking Water” in Nassau County and the Downstate New York region, the district competed against the finest regional water service providers from all across the state.

“Throughout the summer, it was an honor to be recognized by the residents of our community and region for our dedication and commitment to excellence,” said Board of Commissioners Chairman Andrew Bader. “This was a fantastic experience because we were able to use this opportunity as a platform to educate our consumers on what it takes to provide the cleanest and best tasting drinking water.”

Commissioner Joel Kessler and Chairman Andrew Bader represented the Plainview Water District at the New York State Finals of the Best Tasting Water Competition, held in Syracuse. The competition, which was held at the New York State Fair in Syracuse, consisted of a blind taste test of the finalists’ drinking water as residents, attendees and tourists tested each of the respective samples. With the district’s water supply receiving high praise throughout the summer, the Plainview-Old Bethpage community should be proud to know that they are drinking some of the best tasting water in the state.

Water District Paves And Secures

The Plainview Water District Board of Commissioners Joel Kessler, Andrew Bader and Edward Shulroff recently visited Plant No. 1 at Manetto Hill Road to review the progress of the district’s pavement restoration project and to check heightened security measures. The construction at Plant No. 1 is part of an extended series of capital improvements designed to enhance efficiency and productivity within the district’s facilities.

“We’re very pleased at the progress we continue to make at the Plainview Water District throughout the past 12 months,” Kessler said. There are a variety of ongoing projects, he added, and it is important that “my fellow commissioners and I thoroughly oversee each capital improvement” to ensure continued high-quality service.
