The Plainview Water District Commissioners announced the implementation of a new hydrant flushing program set to flush all fire hydrants within the District in a two-week period.

This is part of the Water District's ongoing effort to improve the quality of water supplied to consumers. This program is designed to remove any accumulation of dissolved materials, which may have settled in the mains. Slight water pressure variations or discolored water conditions may occur during this period, but please remember that the water is safe to drink. Water uses, such as laundering of clothes, may be affected due to coloration of water.

Flushing within the district will commence on Sunday, April 19 through April 29. All flushing activities will be performed only between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. This program will be performed at no additional cost to the District due to the shifting of employee's work hours from day to night for the time period the flushing will take place.
