On Saturday, April 19, Plainview-Old Bethpage High School French and Spanish teacher Mrs. Regina Smith competed in the Mini Mighty Man Triathlon in Eisenhower Park. A total of 300 athletes were in attendance for the event. The race consisted of a 400-meter swim in the Nassau Aquatic pool followed by a six-mile bike ride and a two-mile run in the park. Mrs. Regina Smith finished first in her age category, beating out many 30-40 year olds. Mrs. Smith trains with her husband at Brookhaven Lab's pool and grounds. This was Mrs. Smith's first triathlon. Congratulations.
