In reference to your article "TOB Supports Efforts of Literacy Nassau," Jan. 18, I want to endorse the efforts and success of Literacy Nassau and the tremendous experience of being a literacy tutor. I was trained by Nassau Literacy and have tutored an illiterate adult for about a year now. I have witnessed significant improvement in my student's literacy, writing and communicative skills. I have a great deal of respect for any adult who wants to make a commitment to improve their literacy skills and abilities. I've appreciated the opportunity to help make a difference in someone's life. I highly recommend this most rewarding experience.
