Here comes 2008 and it appears to be unstoppable. My predictions for the year: some will come true and some will not.

Nostradamus Greenberg!

1. There will be a new president elected this year.

2. There will be a third party candidate on the ballot.

3. The public will be sick and tired of all the name-calling and backbiting by June.

4. Hollywood stars will choose candidates and the public will completely ignore them.

5. After the votes are tallied someone will cry foul and raise doubts about the election.

6. The winter will be freezingly cold and the summer will be blazing hot.

7. The Iraq war will slowly wind down and people will not react to it as passionately as before.

8. The stock market will go up and down, but not necessarily in that order.

9. Housing prices will slowly edge up but nowhere near the highs of 2006 and 2007.

10. Roger Clemens will sue baseball for character defamation. Case will be thrown out of court.

11. O.J. Simpson will do something that will aggravate the entire U.S. population.

12. To prove that they have changed, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan will become Scoutmasters in the Girl Scouts.

13. Broadway tickets will top $250 per.

14. Movie tickets will stop for a short time at $20.

15. The NY Yankee fans and the NY Mets fans will declare a truce and promise never to speak ill of each other.

16. The above truce is shattered after three days.

17. Anne Coulter and Pat Buchanan will switch to the Democratic party. Barbra Streisand and Susan Sarandon will join forces with Nancy Pelosi and try to revive the Andrew sisters.

18. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will step out of politics and concentrate on religious activities.

19. After much wrangling CNN and Fox News will merge. Upon viewing this CBS, NBC and ABC will also merge into one huge network called the George Washington News Network.

20. There will be peace on earth and good will to all men.
