Opinion

As longtime residents of the Town of Oyster Bay we are excited about the possibilities of the $60 million SEA Fund III Environmental Bond Referendum to maintain the quality of life for our children and grandchildren. With our future in mind, we are writing to urge our fellow Oyster Bay residents to vote "yes" on Proposition 2 when they go to the polls on November 6.

Proposition 2 aims to restore and create new parks and natural habitats that help maintain a healthy and enjoyable lifestyle. A vote of "yes" on Proposition 2 will also help to preserve Oyster Bay's last remaining open spaces, keep our drinking water clean and protect wildlife habitats. For $2.65/month, collectively we can accomplish all of these goals.

Your help is needed now to protect our natural resources and recreational assets for our families and generations to come. Please help us spread the word and encourage all of your Town of Oyster Bay friends and neighbors to vote "yes" on Proposition 2 for our children and environment.

Most importantly, don't forget to exercise your right to vote on Nov. 6.
