Plainview Water District Commissioners Joel Kessler, Edward Shulroff and Kevin Langberg are pleased to commend water plant operator Al Basseta for his recent contributions to the Long Island Fair, held at the Old Bethpage Village Restoration from September 26 to 30.
The annual agricultural fair once again drew tens of thousands of visitors to the Plainview-Old Bethpage area. Mr. Basetta and the staff of the Plainview Water District worked very closely with the Nassau County Department of Health to ensure that the fair met with the water supply requirements set forth by the New York State Sanitary Code. In a letter to Superintendent Michael Gelé, the Health Department praised the cooperation demonstrated by the Plainview Water District, stating, "the increased daily monitoring...provided an assurance that the participants and spectators would receive water of excellent quality."
"It has always been our pleasure to work with Nassau County, especially on this wonderful event right here in our own backyard," said Board Chairman Joel Kessler. "We are proud of Al Basetta and the rest of our staff for their fine work and cooperative efforts with the Health Department to make the Long Island Fair a success."
The Board of Commissioners also extends commendations to employees Joe DiGregorio and Jeff Zebrowski for their contributions to this event.
