A ribbon cutting ceremony was recently held at the Harvey Weisenberg Resource Center for autism and other developmental disabilities. The Resource Center is the first center of its kind, which will provide information, assistance, resources, training and guidance to families and individuals who are dealing with autism and other developmental disabilities. In July of 2006, Renee Zeichner, Sue Victor and Chris Tooker of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library staff began to send packages to soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan who were not receiving any mail from home.
