In their continuing effort to keep the community apprised of the NYS-DEC' s investigation for Vapor Intrusion at the former Hazardous Waste Sites in the Plainview Industrial Park, the Concerned Citizens of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Community, Inc. recently announced a "Town Hall Meeting" presented by Nassau County Legislator David Mejias and the Concerned Citizens.
NY State DEC section chief Guy Bobersky is returning along with geologist-Joe Jones, engineer Nathan Putnam, public health specialist Jacquelyn Nealon, and Donald Miles to offer an update since their last visit to Plainview for the Plainview Water District & Concerned Citizens Community Information Forum in March 2006. The NYS-DEC will be providing a thorough explanation of conditions at the Industrial Park, including information on any potential pollution on-or off-site and addressing public health concerns.
The Concerned Citizens are extremely grateful to Legislator David Mejias for graciously co-presenting this Town Hall Meeting, and on behalf of Legislator Mejias and their organization, they cordially invite the community to attend this informative program on: Tuesday, August 28 at 7 p.m. in the POB Library Auditorium, Old Country Road, Plainview.
For more information you may contact Concerned Citizens, President Carol Meschkow at: ccpobc1@aol.com.
All residents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
