Don't you love Batman and Robin?
Clara, my sister-in-law, would make a wonderful Batman. Larry, my brother-in-law, of course would be Robin who carried out the wishes of his intrepid partner. Clara would be the forceful fighter against indolence and just sitting and relaxing with TV and/or a book. "Let's go someplace!" she would command. Immediately all family credit cards would be snatched and a trip to some exotic spot in the Universe was in the works.
Larry, of course, the faithful Robin or Sancho Panza would send out hundreds of emails and beautifully written letters to the awaiting flock.
The Dynamic Duo - Clara and Larry Silver - had struck once more. Off to Zanzibar or Bali.
They also do monumental babysitting chores. One mile or 900 miles is all the same. "Our daughter needs us!" Clara states. Larry immediately packs the Bat-Van with water, DVDs, tapes, food for the long and arduous journey to distant points. Clara and Larry have three offspring, who have acquired their husbands Curly, Moe and Larry, and a total of seven children. They are Ilana, Leah, Elliot, Ethan, Erin, Justin and Noah. All destined to be future super-heroes.
The Silvers are inveterate "do-gooders." When she is not racing up and down the steps in the Silver Mansion, Clara is helping humanity. Her work with the learning disabled is magnificent. She projects her prodigious power on these kids and they rise to great deeds. She is a dynamic force.
Larry on the other hand is a little lazy. All he does is publish book after book on Child Psychiatry. We are not really sure that he truly likes children at all.(Joke). When he crawls on the carpet with kids, we suspect he is just reliving his early years. Being a well-decorated Boy Scout, Eagle Scout and General Scout have not soured Larry. He still maintains the "common touch." His speeches all over the world are filled with great wisdom on child rearing and some of the most god-awful jokes that any person would say in front of an audience.
Soon Clara and Larry will celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary. They can now retire their "Do-Gooder Capes" and live a life of ease and retirement.
Fat Chance!
