To the Plainview Old Bethpage Board of Education: Thank you for your thorough response to my letter of January 26. Although I wish you had addressed my concerns regarding disappointing test scores, lack of early math help and reductions in Reading Recovery, I respect and appreciate your strong statement of opposition to Wang's larger-scale development plans if monies are not received for the construction and renovation costs needed for our schools to accommodate the projected increase in students. The prominent Open Letter to Residents placed in the January 26 Pennysaver did not make this position quite clear and I did not hear that philosophy mentioned at any prior board of ed meeting I had attended.
