  • News: Library Sends Over 360 Boxes to Troops

    In July of 2006, Renee Zeichner, Chris Tooker and Sue Victor of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Library reached out to the library staff for donations to send packages and letters to soldiers serving in the U.S. Army who don't receive any mail from home. The response from the staff, friends, family and community has been wonderful! Gifts of items and cash to help pay postage have been coming in. To date, over 360 packages have been lovingly prepared and sent to "Our Soldiers." FULL STORY

  • News: Plainview Water District's Toy Drive a Success

    Thanks to the community's efforts, the Plainview Water District was able to collect numerous toys, to be donated to "John Theissen Children's Foundation," (formerly known as Toys for Sick Children) a nonprofit organization that provides toys to sick, and less fortunate, children in local hospital pediatric wards and shelters. According to Plainview Water District Commissioner Chairman Kevin Langberg, response from the community and water district employees was terrific. FULL STORY
