As a Plainview resident and this year's co-race director, I would like to invite Plainview runners and walkers to the 19th annual Ho Ho Ho Holiday Run. This year's event will be held at Bethpage High School on Saturday, Dec. 16, starting at 9:30 a.m. This is the last and biggest running event of the year organized by the Greater Long Island Running Club. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Maurer Foundation for breast health education, the Bretton Bowl for needy local families and The Tender Loving Care Foundation.

Race entrants are also encouraged to bring a toy to this event. Toys are distributed to local children in need. Last year, almost 500 toys were donated to mercyFirst of Syosset for its annual Holiday Party for underprivileged youngsters, who are part of the mercyFirst program. For more information, call me at 349-7646.
