Due to the tremendous success of the first Nassau County Environmental Conservation Act, a unanimous bi-partisan majority of the Nassau County Legislature and County Executive Suozzi backed a second referendum for 100 million dollars that is going out for voter approval this Election Day. The previous Bond Act enjoyed an overwhelming 77 percent approval rate at the polls two years ago. _The Concerned Citizens of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Community, Inc. are thrilled about the prospect of this year's Open Space-Clean Water Bond Proposition. This referendum, like the last in 2004, will go toward acquisition of open space and farmland, brownfield remediation, protection of our drinking water, controlling storm water runoff, acquiring and improving parks, all for a bargain rate of $16 per year or only $1.33 per month per household. _Once again the public will be welcome to participate in the project selection process by forwarding their nominations to a non-partisan committee of environmental leaders. The county is acting proactively in this effort, as land use planners predict final buildout of Nassau County by 2010 saving our last vestiges of open space must be a priority for all. _We encourage you to exercise your right to vote on November 7. Say YES to our future by pulling the YES lever for "Proposal One". It is at the top of the ballot, and we hope it is on the top of your list as well._ Thank you for your support. _
