Ann Fisher and Debra Holly, both residents of Plainview, were chosen as finalists to compete for the title of New York State Senior Idol 2006.

Last week a panel of judges selected Fisher and Holly over more than 140 performers vying for the title.

Fisher sang a powerful rendition of At Last and captured a finalist spot in the competition. Holly sang her rendition of Speak Low and also captured a finalist spot in the competition along with 13 other performers.

On Saturday, Oct. 21, Holly and Fisher will perform at the 50 Plus LifeStyles Expo to be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Suffolk Community College's Sports and Exhibition Complex located in Brentwood.

A panel of celebrity judges will choose the New York State Senior Idol 2006 on that day. In addition to crowning the second New York State Senior Idol, the expo will feature live entertainment, celebrities, health screenings, travel showcases, giveaways and more.
