Commissioner Kevin Langberg stated, "We are pleased to report that the project is progressing ahead of schedule at this time. Our staff is closely coordinating with the contractors to fast track the project in order to minimize an inconvenience to our Donna Drive neighbors and above all ensure that the drinking water supply remains protected."
The proactive Wellhead Treatment Project is being carried out in response to degrading water quality conditions due to past industrial spills documented within the Plainview Industrial Park. After the water district removed the supply well from service, it commenced with the construction of the wellhead treatment system. This capital project also includes site and facility upgrades for improving public health, safety and security protection.
During construction, water is being transferred from other portions of our system. Please note that the water is safe to drink. This action is being undertaken proactively to ensure the safety of the drinking water supply. If you have any questions please contact the Plainview Water District at 931-6469.
