The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District recently announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for the graduating class of 2006. Risa Eilbaum is this year's valedictorian and Brian Krigsher is this year's salutatorian. These students earned their titles as a result of much hard work and dedication to their education.
Risa's enthusiasm for learning and her incredible work ethic enabled her to complete eleven Advanced Placement courses during high school. She has organized a business suit drive for the Dress for Success, mentored middle school Science Olympiad students, was Captain of J.V. Lacrosse, and has authored several articles for local paper, the Plainview Herald. Risa has participated in DECA for three years where, as a junior, she placed first in the DECA State Competition. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Business Honor Society and has received the Scholar Athlete Award as a sophomore and junior. Risa will be attending Washington University in St. Louis this fall.
Salutatorian, Brian Krigsher, is Quizbowl team president, chief of staff for the MetMUNC (Model United Nations Club), and managing editor of the Hawkeye school newspaper. He is also a member of the Fed Challenge Economics Competition team and the Business and National Honor Societies. Brian has spent his past three summers volunteering at Montefiore Medical Center, where he has put in over 450 hours. This fall Brian will be attending Washington University to pursue a major in accounting and a minor in history.
