The Manetto Hill Jewish Center will be opening their 18-year time capsule on Sunday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to noon. Originally interred in April of 1988, the items to be unearthed are a surprise, but will be shared with all in attendance that day.

Barry Katz, chairperson of the Time Capsule Committee said, "I chaired this committee in 1988 and know what we put into the time capsule. We took lots of care to protect the items, but until we open it up, we can't guarantee that everything will be in the same shape it was when we put it in. Good shape or bad shape, it will be interesting to see what we open up. Long Island has changed a lot in the past 18 years and it will be exciting to see what we put in then in perspective to where our synagogue and the Island are today."

The Manetto Hill Jewish Center welcomes all current members, past members and the general community to join them. For more information, call the synagogue at 935-5454.
