Norman Spiegel, 76, died March 21, 2006. Born March 4, 1930, he was a longtime Plainview resident and owner of the Home Beautiful Maid Agency, Plainview and Genial Travel, Old Bethpage. He served in civic organizations and was president of the Plainview Little League, commissioner of the Plainview Police Boys Club (PBC) and member of the East Nassau Hebrew Congregation. He retired to Boynton Beach, FL, with his wife Rosalyn and served as president of his condominium association.
He graduated from the DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx where he ran track and played baseball. He attended CCNY University to study business law. He was drafted during the Korean conflict and was stationed in the Jungle school in the Panama Canal Zone. He was married in Panama to Rosalyn Sokol Spiegel and after the war moved to Plainview. He is survived by his two children, Kevin M. Spiegel of Warren, OH, and Laura J. Jackson of Phoenix, AZ; and his five grandchildren, Rachel, Michael, Joshua, David and Jennifer.
