Patrick C. Yula, a resident of Plainview and a teacher at Westbury Public Schools was recently named Dowling College/News 12 Educator of the Month.

Yula is presently a fifth-grade inclusion teacher at Powells Lane and has been with the district for 37 years. He was selected for this honor by a committee of distinguished educators. He is the 21st Century program site coordinator at Powells Lane, elementary summer program school principal, he has sponsored the Newsday "Help a Family" program for the last 15 years, has been named to the Who's Who Among America's Teachers list several times, and students in his class consistently place within the top ten teams in the Newsday Stock Market Game.
"This honor adds to Mr. Yula's long list of accomplishments as an educator here in Westbury," said Dr. Constance Clark, Superintendent of the Westbury Public Schools. "Our district is lucky to have him as part of our team; he has truly made a difference in the lives of the children."
Yula and his wife Stephanie reside in Plainview and have two children, Brian and Andrea.
