Concerned Citizens of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Community recently presented the Plainview Water District with a bench celebrating the environment and our most precious resources. The bench was given to the Water District for its hard work and dedication to the Plainview-Old Bethpage community.

"At my recent attendance of the Water District board meeting it was clear that with your dedication to our community and our groundwater, that your office would be the perfect permanent home for this environmentally friendly bench," noted President Carol Meschkow in a letter to the Water District.

The bench, residing in the boardroom of the Water District administration building, utilizes all environmentally friendly and recycled materials to mirror the beauty of our most natural resources. The artist incorporated Long Island's trademark trees into a natural landscape scene that would be tranquil and inviting for all to admire and relax upon.

"The Plainview Water District is pleased to receive this recognition from the Concerned Citizens of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Community," commented Edward Shulroff, chairman of the Plainview Water District Board of Commissioners. "We take this bench with great appreciation and thank Carol and Lance Meschkow who have dedicated their time to ensuring the safety of the community's drinking water and the protection of the environment for honoring us with this great gift."
