H2M Project Manager, James Neri, presents community members with a final rendering for Plant No. 2 on Donna Drive

The construction of a wellhead treatment system at the supply well 2-1 located on Donna Drive commenced this past November. This capital project also included various site and facility upgrades for improving public health, safety and security protection. The treatment system is being proactively constructed to address degrading water quality conditions due to past industrial spills documented within the Plainview Industrial Park. Accordingly, the water district has removed the supply well from service and commenced with the construction of a wellhead treatment system. During construction, water is being transferred from other portions of our system. Please note that the water is safe to drink. This action is being undertaken proactively to insure the safety of the drinking water supply.
Edward Shulroff, chairman of the Plainview Water District Board of Commissioners, gave introductory remarks, stating that the board of commissioners remains proactive in protecting the quality of the community's drinking water and public health. H2M Project Manager, James Neri, gave a presentation regarding the final rendering of Plant No. 2 and answered community members' questions. The Plainview Water District is working closely with residents throughout the upgrade of Plant 2.
"The Plainview Water District is not only committed to providing quality drinking water to our customers, but to be an active member of the community as well," commented Commissioner Edward Shulroff. "We will continue to work with the community as we continue with the project while protecting our precious drinking water supply."
The water district is committed to protecting our most precious natural resource and keeping the community informed. If anyone has any questions, please contact Plainview Water District Superintendent Paul Granger at 931-6469.
