The Concerned Citizens of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Community Inc. would like to keep the community abreast of an exciting new program.
Last year the Nassau County Police Department successfully launched a new initiative called "SPIN" (Security Police Information Network). This powerful online Crime Prevention Program, initially based on a communication partnership between the NCPD and the private security sector, is in the next stage of its evolution. The SPIN Unit is expanding its communications network to include local civic organizations, chambers and business as a means of sharing and disseminating critical public safety information.
Our organization, as a member of this new program, will be forwarding information received from SPIN regarding crime prevention, public safety, homeland security, emergency information, severe weather alerts, wanted posters, etc. relevant to our community and/or our surrounding neighbors.
All e-mails will be clearly labeled "SPIN ALERT-NCPD INFO" in the subject title bar. We ask that when you receive these e-mail alerts, that you in turn forward them to your e-mail lists. By doing so, the NCPD will be able to reach the public quickly and accurately with timely information important to local residents, parents, business and the general public.
This program is the first of its kind nationally. To help the NCPD achieve its goal of improving our public safety and quality of life your help and cooperation is appreciated as always, in sharing this information broadly.
If you are not already on the Concerned Citizens' e-mail list and would like to receive these notices and others regarding our environment please send us an e-mail at: ccpobc1@aol.com.
