Sheryl Hodes, manager of Astoria Federal, is the treasurer and Beth Bleistift, is the corresponding secretary for the Chamber of Commerce.
On April 20, the POB Chamber welcomed Howard Weitzman, Nassau County Comptroller as their guest speaker. Weitzman gave an update on Nassau County's financial status and addressed issues relating to school taxes and State Aid. Weitzman also discussed the county's financial recovery and the free NassauRx prescription discount card at a recent luncheon meeting held at Castle Senior Living.
Later this spring, the POB Chamber will initiate A Taste of Plainview. This new and exciting happening is set for June 15 at Haypath Park in Old Bethpage. In addition to tastes from approximately 20 assorted Plainview- Old Bethpage restaurants and food establishments there will be an assortment of other varied specialties from the community.
