Assemblyman Joseph Saladino (R,C,I-Massapequa) joined with Adelphi University's NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program in its annual Mother's Day Mammography Campaign.

"As Mother's Day approaches, all of us need to think about the women in our lives who are important to us," said Saladino. "The latest research confirms that mammograms are effective and can confirm one's health or enable early detection of this disease. Every woman over the age of 40 should have an annual mammogram, because early detection is the best tool in fighting breast cancer."

Saladino noted the Adelphi hot line has existed for 25 years and the organization serves nearly 500,000 people each year through its hot line, Web site, counseling services, educational programs and outreach events. The project is run by the Adelphi University School of Social Work on Long Island, and is funded by the New York state Legislature and state health department.
