The Plainview Old Bethpage Athletic Booster Club is proud to announce the Induction of the Athletes from the 2003-2004 School year. These athletes have been honored for their outstanding achievements during the school year. The students all attended the Plainview Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School.

The Athletic Wall of Fame is located in the Hall of Excellence at Plainview Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School. The Wall was redesigned this year by volunteers from the Athletic Booster Club. Booster Club President Joe Green said, Úquot;The dedicated athletes who work hard at their athletic abilities and school work were honored.

Úquot;Our volunteers took a week to make the Hall of Fame represent Plainview Hawk colors, and it is exciting to look at.Úquot;

The student athletes have been nominated by their coaches, or have been given recognition by selection committees from throughout the county, State, and the United States. The sports that our athletes represented for Plainview, include baseball, bowling, basketball, cross-country, football, golf, gymnastics, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, tennis, volleyball, wrestling, and winter track.

The Baseball inductees to the Wall included (2) players who were honored for the third time. Jason Appel (1X All American), Thomas Hopkins (2X All County). Ben Green (1X All State) was the third player from JFK to be so honored with All State. Also inducted with honors were Ryan Blumenthal, Scott Eliot, Brandon Fieland, Alex Regensburg, Michael Rutcofsky, Rob Schenker, and Anthony Zito. The players honed their talent in Plainview Little League, Plainview Travel, and the Plainview School teams. These players were part of the 2003 Long Island Championship Team, and the 2004 Conference Champs. Softball inducted Jodie Mc Cumiskey (All County) for her dedicated achievement.

Taylor Rut is an exceptional inductee. This year was her 6X being inducted. Since the seventh grade she has received honors every year while in high school.This has established Taylor as the benchmark for athletic excellence in POB JFK high school. Taylor has been an All American inductee, All State, and All County. The Gymnastics team in Plainview is the reigning 6X Nassau County Champs.

The swim team had the good fortune to induct their relay team of Jason Goldmeier, Joseph Molinelli, Abinav Khanna, Luke Utkovic. (2XAll County) The team's All State swimmer Matt Descovich was given his due for another outstanding year. Matt is a 2x inductee.

The Lacrosse team was represented by David Jacobs (All County). David and Brent Herbst (Honorable Mention All County) were members of the Plainview PAL Lacrosse program, Travel Teams, as well as the Plainview school teams. Merri Herbst (All County) was honored for her accomplishments with the Girl's Lacrosse. Additional Lacrosse players honored were Evan Smith, Evan Haupt, and Keith Vetter.

The Plainview School district was represented at the event by Arthur Jonas, Joseph Hayward, Paul Dallara, and James Murray. The Athletic Booster Club would like to thank Athletic Director Kevin McDermott and his staff for their assistance in making the night a resounding success.
