A public hearing by the Oyster Bay Town Board on a request for a special use permit to construct a Panera Bread restaurant in a Plainview shopping center will be continued on Tuesday, September 21, according to Town Councilwoman Mary A. McCaffery.

"The applicants, Doherty Bread, LLC, d/b/a Panera Bread, and C & B Realty #3 LLC, are seeking a special use permit to construct a 1,626-square foot addition to a building in a shopping center located in an 'NB' Neighborhood Business District at the southeast corner of South Oyster Bay Road and Woodbury Road, with a street address of 439-441 South Oyster Bay Road, to operate a Panera Bread restaurant with an occupancy of 165 people," Councilwoman McCaffery stated. "The Town Board held a day hearing on August 24, but because of the interest in the application, will continue it on Tuesday evening, September 21."

The meeting will be held in the Hearing Room of Town Hall East, 54 Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Following the regular town business, the Town Board will be available to listen to public comment on any subject.
