Last week Mayor Bloomberg listed the Top Ten Favorite New York City destinations he would go to, if he had a day off. These are his choices in no particular order or sign of favoritism: (Italics are my opinion and comment):

* See Lower Manhattan from the Staten Island Ferry (Truly wonderful - saddened by not seeing the two Towers of the World Trade Center).

* Rooftop Garden of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The view of Central Park is breathtaking - All that greenery in the center of Manhattan!).

* The P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center of MOMA in Long Island City (Art comes to Queens - Great!).

* Tour of Harlem Studio Museum on West 125th St. followed by lunch at Sylvia's restaurant on Lenox Avenue (Sounds great Mayor, I will put it on my "Must-Do List".)

* Visit to Tiger Mountain Exhibit at Bronx Zoo followed by dinner at Dominick's on Arthur Avenue, the Bronx. (I've been to Dominick's - Great Italian food - No written dinner check - Waiter scans the table and states the price).

* The Promenade in Brooklyn Heights. The Brooklyn Museum and the Brawta Caribbean Cafe on Atlantic Ave. (The Promenade gives a lovely view of Manhattan - Parking is difficult). (The Brooklyn Museum is under-publicized - Extensive Rodin Sculpture collection - Very worthwhile). (Never been to the Caribbean Café - I bet the food is spicy and tasty.)

* Brunch at Sarabeth's on Amsterdam Ave. - Stroll into Central Park (The chicken dishes of Sarabeth's are outstanding.)

* The Cloisters in the Inwood Section of Manhattan. (I recently took my Florida pal, Ed Lewis (former Bronxite) to the Cloisters for a glorious day of stepping back into the Middle Ages while viewing tapestries and statuary from that time period). The view of the Hudson River and the New Jersey Palisades is highly recommended).

* Tour El Museo del Barrio in Washington Heights (Another item added to my "New Places to See List".)

Note that the mayor, who is up for election in 2005, has mentioned all five New York City Boroughs. However political, I thank him for compiling the list. It is my intention to see and do them all.

Please send me any of your favorite places and sites, my well-traveled reader. I will be happy to print any and all great suggestions.
