The residents of Plainview and Old Bethpage supported the school and library budgets at Tuesday's statewide budget vote and board elections.

The budget was approved with 1,911 voting for it and 1,329 voting against it.

Incumbent Cheryl Dender, incumbent Cathy Shapp, Debbie Bernstein and Wendy Richter were elected to the Plainview-Old Bethpage Board of Education. Bernstein received 1,765 votes, Dender received 1,965 votes, Shapp received 1,904 votes, and Richter received 1,916 votes.

The Plainview-Old Bethpage Public library budget also with 1,968 residents voting yes and 1,196 voting no. Elaine Gross ran unopposed and won her seat as a library trustee.
