The Mindel Family of Hotels recently announced the opening of their newest business class hotel, The Inn at Plainview, which is located in Plainview.
The entire hotel has been completely rebuilt from an exterior-corridor motel/hotel to a fully redesigned interior corridor hotel. Decorated by renowned interior designer Jorge Portero of Artistic Design Associates, its modern features and earth-tone designs combine modern sensibilities with a comfortable at-home feeling.
According to Portero, "guestrooms have a vision of modern aesthetic with warm country colors and fabrics. We have tried to fuse modern sophistication with more informal country feeling. Corridors feature Long Island vintage photographs depicting historical local events." The hotel opened as the Inn at Plainview, an independent with 83 rooms in service; upon completion of Phase II this fall, the hotel will convert to a full-service Four Points by Sheraton, boasting 103 guestrooms, including seven luxurious suites.
Centrally located on the Nassau-Suffolk border, the property is located on the Long Island Expressway Service Road in Plainview near Race Palace. Boasting free high-speed internet access, marble baths, six-foot desks, pillow-top beds and refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker in every oversized guestroom, the Inn at Plainview meets the demand for high-quality service in the mid-priced market.
Owned and managed by the Mindel Family of Hotels, whose products include the Inn at Great Neck, Long Island's only Small Luxury Hotel of the World, and the Ramada/Adria Hotel and Conference Center, the Inn at Plainview combines the family's renowned superior customer service and amenities with the great value called for by budget-conscious business and leisure travelers alike. The hotel's location attracts both leisure and business travelers as it borders on prestigious residential areas.
With 4,000 square feet of newly remodeled meeting and banquet space, the conference center will accommodate events of up to 200 people ranging from high-tech business meetings to catered parties and affairs. The facility features high-speed wireless internet access and state-of-the art audio-visual equipment. Upon completion of Phase II construction, the banquet center will connect to a beautiful lagoon-like outdoor pool and year-round indoor/outdoor hot-tub, accessible through our brand new fully operational fitness center. The Phase II structure will feature a 50-seat restaurant with outdoor landscaped terrace, part of the glass-enclosed lobby with five-story elevator tower. "The design of the lobby continues the theme of the rooms using a country palate infused with contemporary comfort and sophistication, vaulted ceilings and rose-of-the-wind inlaid marble floors" said Portero.
The Inn at Plainview is offering a special introductory rate of $95 per night including continental breakfast for single/double occupancy for a limited time. According to Alan Mindel, managing member of the ownership group, the hotel is designed to provide "a value added product with an aggressive rate structure compared to its competitors, such as Long Island Hilton and Melville Marriott.
