There is a battle on both sides of the House over the role of government versus private plans. In the year 2010, the Republican plan would give the private plans a much larger role in Medicare through a premium support role that would gut Medicare. Please call your congressman and tell them not to allow any changes that would give private business the right to ruin Medicare. The AARP bulletin of September 2003 explains it all.
